September 14. TuesdayCathyAnina drove us to the Burgdorf train station. The first part of our trip for the day (to Zurich via Seon) was with 3 trains: Burgdorf to Olten, Olten to Lenzburg, Lenzburg to Seon. At Seon Gary had scheduled an alphorn lesson with Lisa Stoll. We arrived a generous hour before the lesson and allowed ourselves extra time, after a cold tea at the Imbiss near the train station, and walked with our luggage to the address. Google Maps gave us poor directions, but we did find the place with extra time. It was in a church facility, a youth building, and we had fun watching three first graders play together as they ate their lunch. A lot of schoolchildren came through the property, also. One girl, walking by herself toward us, greeted us :) Gary appreciated his lesson with Lisa so much. She had good things to say about his playing and gave him good tips for improving his technique. They played together a bit and sight-read some music. She gave him some suggestions for helpful music books. Lunch was on the terrace of Restaurant Sternen in Seon. We took the last two dishes of their special of beef stroganoff on spƤtzle, served with a green salad. Quite delicious. There was no issue with the vax card since we ate outdoors. The second part of our trip today was with 2 trains: Seon to Lenzburg, Lenzburg to Zurich, and on to the airport. Transfers were fine, we always had enough time. Gary did all the lifting of my suitcase, but I tried to pull it along with my right arm whenever I could. He's very protective of me and I try to behave so he doesn't worry so much. |
