Zurich

We spent the day traveling from Heimiswil to Zurich, with my alphorn lesson in Seon with Lisa Stoll and a wonderful lunch at the Gasthof Sternen on their Gartenterasse on the way.

We took the train from Seon directly to the Zurich Airport, then checked it at the Radisson Blu Hotel Zurich Airport, where we spent 2 nights. The Zurich airport is a city by itself. From our hotel room we could walk to countless airport shops, directly to our boarding gate, and to the Zurich airport train station without having to get outside or encounter any vehicle traffic. It was incredibly convenient, and we will stay at the Radisson Blu again, perhaps even at the beginning of a trip to Switzerland so we can spend a good day or so recovering from travel soreness and jetlag.

We had reservations for our required COVID rapid antigen tests, which were done right in the hotel. We received our negative results (yay!) within 15 minutes via pdf file. We were able to use the official Swiss "Covid-Zertifikat" with QR code in the Swiss Covid Certificate app on our phones to obtain entry to restaurants in Zurich.

We had one whole day for a walking tour of Zurich. Then early to bed to get up at 4:00 am for our early flight back to the U.S.

Someone had too much fun with this :)

Cathy has a blouse almost exactly like this one. She bought hers in Switzerland in 1980.

We ate lunch under the archway at the Zunfthaus zur Zimmerleuten

Fantastic Coffee and Kuchen at Babu's Bakery & Coffee House!
Very friendly staff too :)

Shopping nearby was quite fun :)
