Cathy always wanted to visit Celle. We seemed to drive by it on our many trips throughout Germany. We spent a night in the heart of the Altstadt at Hotel Borchers, and it was magical. There are over 400 timber-framed houses (Fachwerkhäuser) in the Altstadt. Sauerbraten with Rotkohl and Knödel made for a fitting dinner.

One of the most exciting (and nerve-racking) experiences was parking our car in the hotel parking garage - via a car elevator in which our car barely fit! Still, we were super grateful to be able to park directly at (or under) our hotel, which is not an option in many hotels in the middle of the Old Town.
